Hyde Park has been a hive of activity for centuries, the park has been the epicentre for many historic events that have happened in London over the years. The many statues and memories that that have been left as reminders include; Diana Memorial Fountain, 7 July Memorial, Statue of Achilles, Joy of Life Fountain, the Holocaust Memorial and the Freeman Family Drinking Fountain as well another dozen points of interest.

Speakers Corner

Speakers corner is steeped in some of Londons infamous history. Speakers corner was originally a place of protest and public speaking as people were given a final chance to express their thoughts before execution at the Tyburn Gallows. The Rose Garden Features two fountains and is renowned as a relaxing area during off season and popular tourist destination during the blooming season which last from early summer all the way through to the first frost

Wildlife

Hyde Park attracts a wide range of wildlife, with more and more emphasis being placed on meadows and habitats attracting wildlife year on year. There is a vast array of robins, dunnocks, tits and for something a little different crested grebe’s can be found in the serpentine from time to time. The the past some other rare birds have been spotted including black swan, a buzzard and egyptian geese. By night bats are attracted to the park due to the large number of insects.
